My name is Danielle Bergum and I live in the Mid Ohio Valley with my wonderful husband, James, and our precious daughter, Isabella. I am very passionate about pregnancy and birth education and thrive on providing information to parents during this special time in their life. I am currently certifying through the Childbirth and Pospartum Professionals Association (CAPPA) to become a Certified Childbirth Educator and the Vice President of a local pregnancy-birth-parenting resource/network, mama*ology.
After the birth of my daughter, in May 2008, my life has completely changed. I was so empowered by the experience that I want to share this joy with everyone and help to change birth in America. It saddens me to know of all the uneducated parents who trust in individuals that may not have their best interests in mind, but the convenience of their practice instead.

Pregnancy and birth changed my life in so many ways. I never planned on children, and went through a period of depression during the first part of my pregnancy. Through education, I was able to understand all the wonderful ways that I could impact my child’s future and strengthen the bond with my child before she was born. Though I always anticipated a natural birth and breastfeeding, should it occur, I never realized the wonderful outcome it could have on my entire life, and the empowerment I would feel from understanding my physical and emotional strength. I have become a better mother and person because of this experience in more ways than I could have ever imagined.
My Bradley Method childbirth educator, Susan Mooney of Asheville, NC was a large influence on my family and has guided me into the path that I am taking now. I look forward to providing the same great services and assistance that she has been so kind to give me, to all my current and future clients. I know what education has done for myself and so many families, and I want everyone to have this wonderful opportunity to learn and grow as individuals and parents.
In addition to childbirth education, I have a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and enjoy space planning, drafting, and commercial design through my other business, Esali D Zines. I am also a licensed nail technician, and work in Ripley, WV at Shear Creations. Expectant mothers enjoy the occassional manicure and pedicure, and I provide discounts to expectant couples which can be found at Esali Spa. I love providing tips for partners on massage and hand/foot care during the prenatal period. You can also look for additional education on those topics, as well as drawing and dream interpreting, through my classes at UniversalClass.com.
